- Our goal is to provide the highest possible concentration of quality information regarding the use of Linux in embedded applications. We intend to accomplish this by enabling YOU, the real Linux experts, to share information with others in a free and open manner. We will depend on the motivation and integrity of the embedded Linux developer community to make this vision a reality. Our site features news, articles, polls, discussion forums, event listings, job listings, product listings, resource listings, sponsors, and an extensive resource directory -- all exclusively focused on using Linux in embedded applications. Please check these out, and feel free to use the "post" functions to add more embedded Linux content for all to share. Or, email us URLs where we can gather good quality content of interest to developers of embedded Linux based systems.

- he Embedded Linux Consortium (ELC) is a nonprofit, vendor-neutral trade association whose goal is the advancement, promotion and standardization of Linux throughout the embedded, applied and appliance computing markets. Members contribute dues and participate in management, promotion, implementation and platform specification working group (WG) efforts, in return for a growing market opportunity for all.

- SiliconPenguin.com is a project dedicated to gathering and presenting a comprehensive index of embedded Linux information. It has grown from a research project in which we were attempting to gather information on the embedded Linux market. We found that while there is a great deal of information on using Linux in embedded systems, there was no single site providing links covering the wide variety of platforms on which Linux runs. So, we set out to build a site that provides links to facilitate locating relevant, current information on the companies, hardware, software and projects operating and influencing the embedded Linux community.

- Embedded Linux Journal
- Published between November 2000 and May 2002, Embedded Linux Journal (ELJ) focused on the use of Linux in embedded systems. This archive within the Linux Journal web site contains all articles from the print edition as well as press releases and information on contests sponsored by ELJ.

- Embedded Linux/Microcontroller Project
- Pronounced "you-see-linux", the name uClinux comes from combining the greek letter "mu" and the english capital "C". "Mu" stands for "micro", and the "C" is for "controller". uClinux first ported to the Motorola MC68328: DragonBall Integrated Microprocessor The first target system to successfully boot is the 3Com PalmPilot using a TRG SuperPilot Board with a custom boot-loader created specifically for our Linux/PalmPilot port. It is currently maintained by co-creator D. Jeff Dionne.
- MertroWerks
- Metrowerks now offers a complete end-to-end embedded Linux development solution, including tools, operating system, middleware and software stacks. The addition of this key technology complements Metrowerks CodeWarrior development tools, and helps shorten customer time-to-market by providing customers a complete integrated solution from single source.

- Our goal is to encourage and facilitate the creation of open source software for use on handheld and wearable computers. We welcome participation and sponsorship by individuals, groups and companies seeking to further this goal.
The Familiar Project is composed of a group of loosely knit developers all contributing to creating the next generation of PDA OS. Currently, most of our development time is being put towards producing a stable, and full featured Linux distribution for the Compaq iPAQ series of handheld computers, as well as apps to run on top of the distribution. Opie (Open Palmtop Integrated Environment) is a completely Open Source based graphical user environment for PDA's and other devices running Linux. Opie originated as a 'fork' of Qtopia, developed by Trolltech. Opie has been extended and has improved usability.
- OpenZaurus
- The OpenZaurus project was created as an alternative ROM image for the Sharp Zaurus Personal Mobile Tool. The original purpose behind the project was to create a ROM image (kernel + root filesystem) which was a bit closer to what the developer community specifically desired. The method by which this was accomplished was simply to use the Sharp ROM as a base and make alterations, bugfixes, additions and even removals, where necessary, to make the package more open. Shortly after this, it was revamped completely. OpenZaurus is now a debian based embedded distribution built from source, from the ground up. Given its debian roots, it is quite similar to other embedded debian-based distributions, such as Familiar for the Ipaq. This means of doing things also facilitates an easy method for users to build their own custom ROM images.
